Something new

Back in 2013, as I was growing in and deepening in my relationship in Christ, I remember praying a simple prayer, I just simply wanted to know a deeper meaning of love. I wanted to truly experience how much God loves me and what I mean to Him. In other words, I challenged Him to show me something with the faith of knowing that he will reveal something new to me, something that I could grow from.
While driving to Mexico to a missionary trip of August 2013, our tire popped and we needed to stop. As we pulled to the side of the road in the middle of the night in the Texan desert, the van of missionaries pilled out to get some fresh air. While stepping out I looked up to the sky and there I stood in awe. mouth open, eyes widened, and heart in utter shock. The night sky was filled with twinkling stars in the sky. Each one shining brighter than another. The light pollution was light so you could see so much. In the midst of all the chaos around me; the guys fixing the van, girls complaining here and there, i stood looking at the sky, and as a warm august breeze danced around me, I could hear a still small voice whisper to me, this is how much I love you
From that day forward, Christ has opened a new flood gate of revealing his love to me, revealing this love through nature, through the sound of the rain and wind, through the rising and the setting of the sun, and most beautifully, in my opinion, through the night sky.
