In a year of October’s

Ah October! The month where typically sandals are traded in for booties and iced coffees are swapped for PSL’s. A month where the air turns crisp, and the foliage transforms to hues of yellows and oranges (with the exception of the state of Florida). Over the past few years, October has consistently been a month of breaking, a month of tears and a month of learning to step forward into the unknown future. From switching jobs, to loosing a dear friend or even closing a door to a prospective relationship.  Walking through the valleys of life are inevitable. However, allowing your circumstances to affect your joy is definitely preventable. The word of God calls us to be Joyful in Hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in Prayer (Romans 12:12). In seasons of crushing, pain and change, what I have found Vital is lifting your praise to Whom it only belongs to. Whether it be a offering or sacrifice of praise, When we shift our gaze on Him, everything changes. It has to change, and it sure

Abigail: Preparing in a time of peace- Part One

"Abigail Wasted no time. She quickly gathered 200 loaves of bread, two wineskins full of wine, five sheep that had been slaughtered, nearly a bushel of roasted grain, 100 clusters of raisins and 200 fig cakes..."(1 Samuel 25:18) Talk about a woman! Upon hearing of her husband insulting David, and the plans David had over her husband and home, Abigail wasted no time- she had a plan, she was prepared.  Abigail, described as a sensible and beautiful woman (1 Samuel 25:3) was also a woman of wisdom, and humility. In an unexpected time of chaos, when trouble came abruptly, Abigail was prepared. Not only did she have a plan in set, she was ready to execute without hesitation. To be honest, I do not know much women who can QUICKLY [keyword] gather together 200 loaves of bread, 200 fig cakes, and the rest of the things she brought. She had to have been a woman that delegated work wisely and she wasn't slow to get things done. It also goes to show she was well prepared and had w

Contentment in giving Him control

Control :  the power to influence or direct people's behavior or the course of events. Contentment : Contentment is true peace of mind and has absolutely nothing to do with any external pleasure or condition, but rather your attitude. Allowing the Lord to take you by your dominant hand. Fully allowing him to take control of everything  that is being held on tightly in the palm of your hand.  Giving the Holy Spirit control of your strength, your experience, your knowledge and submitting to his goodness, to His authority, to his Lordship. Allowing Him to lead you. Fully lead you, without restraint.  Fully surrendering and allowing you to come to a place of utter worship. Not a worship that subliminally wants a blessing in return. But being in a place where every thing is submitted, every thought is taken captive, every desire is surrendered. A place where it is well with your soul. A place where your soul is fully content- no matter the outcome, even if the healing d

Not forgotten, not Forsaken

Oh beloved, you are not alone. So many times, we feel Misunderstood, alone, forgotten. You can be in a room full of so much people. Various people. Your people. But still feel all alone. Worthless. No worth to the person you cherish the most to the least. But know, with every fiber of your being, you are loved. You are not forgotten. You have not been left alone. At calvarys tree, the love that ran red, has your name all over it. Your name was a name that was redeemed, your name reigns freedom. Your name reigns fullness. Your name is life. Your name, through Christ is everything. Never did Christ forsake you, never has he abandoned you. And never will He.

January 20, 2018

"You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what He said"  Luke 1:45 Our God is a God who is faithful. Seasons change, we change, but the word of the Lord stays the same. In this time of sacrifice and receiving, let your faith arise and may you know what the Lord has begun, He will bring into completion. May the peace and Glory of God silence every doubt, every worry and may you wait upon the Lord with expectation, knowing He hears you, and will fulfill His promises! Remember, you are not alone, you are not forgotten, you are a child of the Living God, you are His and He is yours!

Something new

Back in 2013, as I was growing in and deepening in my relationship in Christ, I remember praying a simple prayer, I just simply wanted to know a deeper meaning of love. I wanted to truly experience how much God loves me and what I mean to Him. In other words, I challenged Him to show me something with the faith of knowing that he will reveal something new to me, something that I could grow from. While driving to Mexico to a missionary trip of August 2013, our tire popped and we needed to stop. As we pulled to the side of the road in the middle of the night in the Texan desert, the van of missionaries pilled out to get some fresh air. While stepping out I looked up to the sky and there I stood in awe. mouth open, eyes widened, and heart in utter shock. The night sky was filled with twinkling stars in the sky. Each one shining brighter than another. The light pollution was light so you could see so much. In the midst of all the chaos around me; the guys fixing the van, girls complainin

We are beautiful

Without a doubt, every woman at some point in her life doubted that she was beautiful. Being beautiful is something that has been rooted in us since childhood and we constantly seek affirmation and need to hear it constantly to even think that its true. We are all so different in size, features and even personalities that their is virtually no way of labeling what the poster child of beauty is. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. And more importantly, it is is the eyes of our creator. So many times we forget that we were made exactly the way we are for a reason. We need to remind ourselves that we were made in HIS image. Calling yourself unattractive doesn't only bring you down, but it insults God. God invested beauty in our lives, in our appearances and more importantly in our hearts. The older I get, the more I realize that looks can easily fade away. Countless times, Ive encountered beyond gorgeous women, only to realize that they have rotten personalities and hearts.
